Jacksonville is known as “the river city.” Here are the top five ways to experience Jacksonville by water.
The Jacksonville River Taxi is located at the Jacksonville Landing and will take you across the river for a small fee or you can simply sit back and enjoy a roundtrip. There are two stops on Jacksonville’s Southbank: one near the Friendship Park fountain and another near the Chart-House restaurant.
The Annabelle Lee Riverboat has lunch and dinner cruises as well as sightseeing cruises and special event cruises. Enjoy a nice dinner while also enjoying the river.
Jacksonville River Cruise
Dinner cruises, lunch, sightseeing, cocktail cruises, and more! There’s no better place to take in the beauty and charm of the downtown Jacksonville area than aboard Jacksonville’s newest most luxurious dinner cruise yacht, the Jacksonville Lady.
St. Johns River Ferry
The St. Johns River Ferry is probably the most unique way to experience “the river city” by water. Just drive your car onto the ferry and then get out and enjoy a short fifteen minute ride across the river. Once across get back in your car, drive off, and continue your exploration of Jacksonville.
Probably the best way to enjoy Jacksonville by water is to rent a houseboat. Several marinas in Orange Park rent houseboats along with several other varieties of boats. You can cruise your houseboat downtown and dock at The Landing and enjoy downtown Jacksonville. Or take a multi-day cruise down the St. Johns River.
